0:04.0	And the topic of today's newsletter is going to be, I took her for granted.
0:07.6	So I've got an email, this is from a guy, he was with his girlfriend for about five years,
0:13.0	and he says that he continually took her for granted.
0:17.0	And especially did some things during the holidays that just kind of made it worse.
0:21.7	And then so she asked for some space and a few days later she broke up with him.
0:27.0	Obviously he still wants to stay with her, told her to come pick up her stuff.
0:31.3	She told them that she wrecked her car, couldn't do it.
0:34.8	And so she's put off coming to pick up her things, but he's wondering,
0:39.3	is there a chance that he can get her back? And so this brings up a really good point in all
0:48.0	relationships. And so I got a quote that I wrote and then we'll go through his email. And the quote
0:53.5	says, the strongest
0:54.2	negotiating positions being able to walk away and mean it. If someone continually violates
1:00.3	yourself and your dignity after you set healthy boundaries with them, then you need to
1:05.5	enforce those boundaries and create distance until they either start respecting them or they force you to give them the
1:13.5	gift of missing you permanently if they are incapable of treating you properly.
1:20.4	So you can see, obviously, this guy's girlfriend got to the point where she basically had enough. The reality is, is men and women
1:31.8	both, women especially look at a man's actions as a true reflection of how he feels. And women
1:38.2	know if the guy cares, he makes the effort. If the guy doesn't care, he doesn't make the effort,
1:43.5	continually bringing it up and reminding him of his commitments, but yet he doesn't make the effort, eventually at some point she's going to assume he's not serious, he doesn't care, he takes me for granted, he doesn't mean what he says.
1:55.0	And then therefore she makes a decision based upon his actions.
2:00.0	And it's usually a lot of times guys say, I didn't think she was serious.
