and I'm here each week to obsess out loud about spending purposefully, saving aspirationally,

and giving joyfully at all comes down to just one simple practice, giving every dollar a job. job every time one of the things that has been

invented to keep us from being intentional with our money and being intentional is giving every

dollar a job but one way that keeps us distracted is this little instrument we call the credit

card where you spend money but money doesn't leave your account, basically.

A little report, start of the year.

I just want to say that in 2023, I began the experiment of not using a credit card at all for personal spending.

To be clear, we still use it in the business because liquidity.

It's just a showstopper otherwise.

But personally, we stopped.

Julie and I just absolutely stopped using the credit card.

My theory was that we would be more aware of our spending.

My theory was that our maintenance of Wynab would decline.

My theory was that we would be a little more,

I don't want to say frugal,

but a little more thoughtful about our spending.

And my theory has held true have i missed the reward points

no no i have not um does my life change materially if i don't have those reward points no no it

certainly does not but what i've noticed it is just drop dead simple to maintain our money.

You know, the mundane stuff, the things where you're categorizing a transaction here and there,

you're reconciling, making sure everything's good to go.
