For what you can't quite hear with human ears, but you can feel you can hear with your soul,

with your heart, bioamely Dean calls it, resonance. When I woke up yesterday morning,

once the hurricane was making landfall, the first video in my feed on Instagram was a news reporter

standing knee deep in water. Like about a quarter of a mile from my house, literally down the street

and around the corner, the way I walk every day. And I found the silence, I found the love, and I

swiped off. And I didn't send that video to anyone. I didn't need to talk about it with anyone.

I saw it, and then I unsolved it. And then I got up after a while, after listening to the silence.

And then I recorded and edited and emailed and played with the kids and worked with the kids and

sat by the pool and did all the things. I'd find myself chanting at times with finding the

silence even more comforting usually. A hurry, Christian, a hurry, Ron, mantra, that's my go-to

when I'm in danger, when things are falling. I chant, hurry, Christian. But even that felt too heavy

this time. Silence felt just right this time. Even though there were thoughts there that kept

urging me to chant, God kept unerging me, stilling me. I could hear him inside,

telling me there's not a single tradition that will bring you to me to where you already are.

That's why nothing works consistently. And then there was a pause. And then I smiled at that word play
