I'm a friendly. I wanted to talk to you before I say something stupid.

Okay, let's see how long it takes for one of us to say something stupid. Right. Go ahead.

So I work in a fairly small company, but we have some different departments. It's it's a small growing company.

So we're in the process of putting together documented processes. How we do ABC and D.

So my assistant a few weeks ago got together with a few people from different departments because we're putting together one of these documents.

So she basically sits down with a whole bunch of people and says, okay, what do you do? What do you do? What do you do? Put them all together and then I sit down and make it all work so it's funnels into us.

So she gave me all this information and then she said, I had a very strange conversation at this meeting today.

One of the managers. So like I said, it's a really small company. My superior is basically the chief of staff.

So there's nobody above him. There's just a CEO. And the meeting she had was all managers. There were about four people in the room.

She said, someone made a comment about, well, you know, we can't whatever decision we make it will be overwritten by Dr. So-and-So, who's my superior or so anything that wrote that that I say will be agreed by by Dr. So-and-So because they're personal friends.

And he wouldn't say anything to go against her, meaning me. And because they, the families go on vacation together and their personal friend.

And my assistant just because we're friends outside of work, she said, well, that.

Strange to me. I've never heard that before. And she asked me to have you ever heard that before. And so it's outside of work with my superior. We don't vacation together. We've never gone with an or together.

Obviously, obviously, some people will be concerned as to whether or not that's the truth. And I don't think that's an unreasonable thought.

So my question to you is, should I say anything to this person that said it? Should I just say it?

No, this is the way I think you should go.

This is the way I think you should handle it. Call the same meeting with all the managers and say, one of you was concerned probably more than one of you is concerned, but only one of you spoke out.

That because John and I are also family friends that he would make a decision based on our friendship and not business.

And this doesn't hurt my feelings, but it's a bit of an insult to him. And I want to reassure all of you. I wish that were the case.

But it's not he'll make his decision whether or not I like it. If you approach it that way, this just dissipates.
