Andrea, welcome to the program.

0:13.0

Hi, thank you.

0:15.0

Hi. What can I help you with?

0:21.0

I, in January, gave birth to my fourth child during my pregnancy. It was discovered that I had a very serious pregnancy complication, which resulted in the

pregnancy. We weren't sure if the pregnancy would be able to continue. And my life was at risk, baby's life was at risk. Thankfully, by the grace of God, I made it to my scheduled delivery date.

The surgery was very, very complicated. I lost my body's worth of blood twice over, had a massive blood transfusion, and the doctors said it was a miracle that I survived.

But my question is, how do I move forward in relationships with certain family members or very close friends?

1:38.0

What did you expect other people to be doing during all of this? What was your expectation that they should do?

2:35.0

And not turn around and say, but they didn't do that and they didn't do this. Nobody knew what to do for you. Nobody knew what to say.

2:44.0

I have a dear friend who just told me she's probably not going to be able to walk pretty soon. I've known her for 30 years, and I said to her quite bluntly, I don't know what to say.

2:57.0

Now, I'm a dear friend of 30 years, and I'm Dr. Laura Schlesinger. If anybody should know what to say.

3:05.0

Frankly, my dear, it should be me. So imagine somebody who doesn't have those qualifications. They really don't know what to do or say.

3:16.0

So they listened other people call them and say, this is what happened to Andrea and they go, oh my God, some of them prayed, some of them hoped, some of them blocked it out because it scared them too much.

3:28.0

People have all kinds of things going on with them. The only thing that I believe you should be dealing with is you were supposed to be dead.

3:44.0

And that's very traumatizing. It's scary. I'm sure you wake up every morning going, I woke up this morning.

3:56.0

You're taking your fear and spraying it around like machine gun. Don't do that.
