I started recording this and got like literally 30 seconds in when I got a text message from my sister and she's like are you coming and I like looked at it and I was like what coming where and then I realized I

My last and final marathon ever, the Chicago Marathon of 2019.

I swear the number of people like from everyone from my old

physical therapist Rachel Bugner to my coacha Rebecca Stowe who has

filmed little they both like literally filmed me saying that this is my last marathon. It's

ridiculous but truly I don't feel well we'll get into that at the end but

let's uh before I get into the race itself, I want to start with last year.

I want to rewind to a little over a year ago when I was starting to feel like my old self again.

Coming back from the injury that I was forced to rehab in 2017,

so I have tendinosis in the insertion point of my hamstring

and then I have brusitis on the outside like what is essentially my hip area

It was really really hard. I think anyone who has come back from a pretty big injury can attest that coming back from an injury is scary and

terrifying and takes so so long to adjust to your new normal because you spend a lot of

time trying to get back to where you were and eventually like

come to the realization that you're never going to get there and you have to go forward.

And it took me a really, really long time to get there.

I was never running without pain and discomfort and the hardest part
