0:03.0	The people that make the best decisions know their values.
0:06.0	They live by their values and they have no problem sticking by those values.
0:11.0	This is entrepreneurs, the playbook. I had lost track of what and why we make
0:16.5	decisions values. I had entitled myself. I had made really bad decisions and three things I remember clearly of
0:30.3	why these bad decisions. One, my dad, who at five years old was my hero. This is why I
0:37.1	still choke up what I talk about my mom. Some of you can imagine what this is like,
0:41.8	but in the 70s my dad was wealthy, did not pay child support, had a wife that was closer to my age than his.
0:49.0	And I used to sit in back of the station wagon at five, six, and seven years old with my dad being my hero,
0:56.6	asking my mom why she was such a loser and why she could be more like dad or I could live with that.
1:02.8	Not knowing he didn't pay a dime for us.
1:08.4	Told you have issues.
1:09.6	Could you imagine?
1:11.6	She didn't say a word.
1:14.0	So when I was 10 years old, my dad forgot my birthday, a hero, right?
1:20.0	Forgot my birthday.
1:21.0	And he made a huge mistake because instead of just telling the truth he
1:26.0	said I don't believe in birthdays I didn't forget your birthday I don't believe in
1:30.6	birthdays so then for the rest of my life,
1:34.1	even though he celebrated his own birthday
1:35.7	and my other siblings birthday,
1:37.1	he didn't celebrate my birthday.
