It's funny how quickly you all have picked up on the format of the podcast that Dimitria

is going to talk about for different things.

If enough people want her to talk about them, she'll probably address them.

You have been tagging and DMing and emailing and kindly, healthfully hinting and suggesting

gentle reminders that I should talk about certain subjects.

Some of them I address on social media, other ones I say, the big ones that I think need

a little more space to get into, I say, for the podcast.

This week we'll be talking about Jesse Smollett, his attack in Chicago, homophobic and racist

attack.

I feel terrible for him because everyone and their mother tagged me in the Washington

Post story about Beast Smith.

If you haven't been keeping up with this story, Beast Smith, model restaurant tour, turned

lifestyle guru, she's also a television host, she had a magazine, very, very successful

woman, often referred to as the black Martha Stewart, which I wouldn't take as a compliment,

because I think calling black people the black version of a more successful white person

is just weird, but it is a convenient shorthand to describe what she did when she was in better
