Welcome to the Bible Study. I'm Stephen Lawson, president of One Passion Ministries.

And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. I'm going to begin in a word of prayer.

Father in heaven, we rise up and bless your holy name.

We give you the praise and the glory and the honor that belongs to you alone.

We know you are a jealous God and you will not share your glory with another.

And we know that all things are from you and through you and to you,

to you be the glory forever and ever.

And so we are what we are by your grace and we

acknowledge that as we begin this day and begin this study in your word. And so this is your word and it speaks directly to us who are made in your image

and so I pray that you by your Holy Spirit would give us insight into the meaning of these verses as well as how they relate to our lives.

So fill me with your spirit.

Use me as a tool as an instrument in your hand

to teach your word.

Pray this in Christ's name. Amen. All right, First John, Chapter 4, beginning in

verse one and if you are new to our study we're going verse by verse through the book of

first John and we now have come to chapter four which begins a new section of

first John and I'm not certain how many verses we're going to be looking at.

I posted online we'd be going through verse 6. I have brought notes through verse 3 and we may not

get out of verse one so so honey I

shrunk the Bible study so I'm gonna begin reading in in verse one and'm going to read through verse six just to open the lens and let you see this what we call a literary unit, this paragraph is verses one through six.
