And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. Father as we begin this time, it is a privilege for us to be able to meet like this, for each

one of us to have a Bible, and for us to be able to open it and to look into it here at Red, to study it together, to be able to ask questions.

This is a rare privilege.

And so I pray that we would be good stewards so this time that we could capture

the moment and use it for maximum edification for our souls. So build us up, make us strong in the faith.

Okay, we are in 1st John chapter 3, 1st John chapter 3 and we're going to look at

verses 4 through 6 and if you're new to our study and I know we have several who are

new here for the first time. We are going

verse by verse through the book of first John and so our study has brought us to

chapter 3 verse 4. So the title of this study is straight talk about sin. Straight talk

about sin.

And I want to begin by reading the passage.

Trust you've got a Bible and it's open, you can follow along with me.

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness and sin is lawlessness. You know that

he appeared in order to take away sins and in him there is no sin.

No one who abides in him sins no one who sins has seen him or knows him. There's a lot

packed into these verses.
