Welcome to the Bible Study. I'm Stephen Lawson, president of One Passion Ministries.

And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. Father we want to begin our study by acknowledging that you are the author of this book.

All scripture is inspired by God, the God breathed, and so we are studying your book.

We believe that it's infallible and that it is inerrant

and authoritative and I pray that you will send the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to shine light into the

passages of scripture that we will look at today. I pray that you would fill me with your spirit and control my mind

and my tongue so that I can be an instrument used in your hand for good. I pray that the

fellowship that we have even after our study will be edifying that we can

encourage one another.

So thank you for all these men who have gathered here today and for everyone who's watching

and joining us by live stream around the world.

I pray that you would meet with them as we study the word and in part sanctifying blessing to them.

So we look to you as always, we pray this in Christ's name. Amen.

All right, 1st John, chapter 3, and we're going to be in verses 7 and 8, and these verses are just so rich and so full of truth and theology that it's

hard to just speed through these verses.

So I am so grateful for your patience

as we are moving very deliberately through this book.

But there's so much fruit hanging on these branches that we want to pick all of it.
