I have been encouraging us all and Lord willing I will continue to encourage us all to

recognize and rejoice in the importance of preserving history,

honoring excellence, connecting generations,

of memories and dreams.

All phrases and words that I have borrowed from the National Baseball, Hall of Fame,

and Museum.

I will continue to encourage us all to recognize and rejoice in the importance of the truth, goodness, and beauty of stories.

As I do so, I want to remind us of a couple of other things as well.

Those who engage in and celebrate such things

are doing so as image bearers of the one true God,

the fount of all that is true good and beautiful and

the storyteller. And also we need to remember it's not only those who run the game, manage the game, coach the game, play the game, that are instrumental in bringing this all about.
