| 0:39.6 | So here's what happened. This was so wild. I really didn't see this coming, to be honest. So backstory, what happened. This was so wild. |
| 0:54.5 | I really didn't see this coming, to be honest. |
| 0:56.4 | So back story, what happened was when I was postpartum from my son and kind of early in breastfeeding, |
| 1:03.2 | I had my OB visit and they did a breast exam and noticed there was like a little lump, |
| 1:08.7 | which I kind of assumed was probably a clogged duct or something to do breastfeeding. I was in zero, honestly, zero percent concerned about it. But he had suggested, you know, we should probably get this checked out. He said there's not necessarily like a huge rush. He wasn't super concerned, but he ordered me an ultrasound at a breast center just to be sure and make sure everything was okay. And so anyway, I wasn't in a huge hurry. |
| 1:29.5 | Like I said, I wasn't super concerned, but I also wasn't going to totally ignore it if it didn't go |
| 1:33.2 | away. And so I ended up getting an ultrasound a few months later. It would have been in the winter, |
| 1:38.4 | like 2023, 24 winter. I think it was like January of 2024 when I got the first ultrasound. |
| 1:45.7 | And went for that. |
| 1:50.7 | They did the scan, said, you know, we're not concerned about this. This looks benign. I forgot what they called it. I think they said something like it appears to be a lactating adenoma, I believe. |
| 1:57.3 | It's like lactating adenomas. And what was the other thing they said? Fibro adenomas. I think that's what they said. Those two things, especially in like pregnant breastfeeding women, women of reproductive age, 20s and 30s, are like the second most common type of benign lump next to cysts, I believe is what they said. So they were like, we're not concerned about it at this point. Let's just kind of |
| 2:17.5 | follow it every six months and make sure nothing drastic changes. And I said, okay. So I left, |
| 2:22.8 | we had the sigh of relief, and went about my life. So I went to my follow-up scan at the end of 2024, |
| 2:29.3 | almost a year, you know, from the initial ultrasound. And when I walked into the appointment, they said, okay, you'll be getting a mammogram and an ultrasound today, which caught me a little bit off guard because up until that point, we had only been doing ultrasounds. And so I was like, oh, okay. And something in my gut was just like, pause, maybe don't do a mammogram until you're 100% sure you're not pregnant. Because at that point, I had been late for my period. I just hadn't tested yet because I'm not an early tester. That gives me too much anxiety. And also, I kind of had assumed that I was late due to weaning, breastfeeding, hormones changing, et cetera. And we had not yet begun trying. And so I just thought, the likelihood of me being pregnant is very, very, very, very low, not impossible, |
