When I was getting a Manny Petty recently, I was speaking to my manicurist and we were having a good old

giggle about a few different things, life in Miami, the salon that she worked at.

And what was so interesting was after some back and forth, now look, she's Russian and her

English isn't perfect. I don't know Russian. So we were doing our best to make it work.

And she asked me what I did for a living. And one thing that I love to ask people who asked me that

is to ask them to guess. Just because it's so wild what people come up with, this couple in Paris

once guessed that Heath and I had a real estate agency in Miami. Someone else asked me, oh gosh,

what did she ask? She asked if I, like, worked in fashion or something

like that. Huge compliment, I thought. But the manicurist who I met with that day, she was actually

new for me. I hadn't had her before. She thought that I don't work. And I thought that was so

interesting. Okay. So she was like, I don't think that you have a drop. And maybe it was

because I was there on a Monday at like two o'clock. Maybe it's because I had a glass of wine.

Who knows? And she said to me, frankly, or yeah, I'm paraphrasing here, but she said, look,

you know, you look too relaxed and happy. And what was so interesting to me

was that, I mean, you know me. I'm guessing if you've been listening to the pod for a while, I run a

business, my husband works with me, I have quite a few projects going on at any one time. And

that's not obvious to people. And that's cool. People don't know what's

true about us. They make assumptions based on what they see. That's natural. It's appropriate.

We all do it. And just because someone doesn't look busy or stressed or they don't traditionally fulfill a

role, like working in an office, working late, looking, you know, constantly anxious or like they

have somewhere to be, doesn't make their work any less real or less valuable. In fact, to me,
