Hello, my friends. Welcome back. It is time for the morning mindset.

Kerry Green here. If you're new to the morning mindset, I welcome you. I'm thankful that you're here.

Our task here at the morning mindset is to every day get our minds aligned with the truth of God.

And why do we need to do that? Well, it's because our minds leak.

As we sleep, as we go through the day, the pressures and stresses of life cause us to start thinking human-level thoughts.

Thoughts kind of designed by the way we've been raised and the way we've typically lived in the world.

But we want to align our thoughts with God's way of thinking, so that we can live aligned with His way of thinking.

That's the way human beings are designed to live, and that's the way God wants us as followers of Christ to live.

So welcome. I'm glad we're here. Today, we're going to be looking at the topic of God being our friend, or rather us being a friend of God.

This is all part of our identity in Christ's series, and I hope that you're listening to these.

You can go back a couple of days to find the beginning of this, because we really need to build these foundations of who we are,

so that we show up in the world with confidence and with strength and with a sense of purpose that only comes from knowing who we are in Jesus Christ.

Today, we're going to be talking about John 15, verse 15.

So if you've got your Bible and you're able to look, turn right over there, I'm going to read the passage here.

It says, no longer do I call you servants. Now, this is Jesus talking.

Okay, so let's pay attention. No longer do I call you servants for the servant does not know what his master is doing.

But I have called you friends for all that I have heard from my father. I have been known to you.

So Jesus himself is speaking to us here, and he's saying that though we are servants, he does not think of us that way.

As we are in him through our faith in him, he looks at us as friends.

And the basis upon which he describes us to be his friends is very interesting.

He says a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I, Jesus, have called you friends for all that I've heard from my father.

I have made known to you.
