| 0:00.0 | Hello, my friends. Welcome back. It is time for the morning mindset. |
| 0:07.0 | Kerry Green here. If you're new to the morning mindset, I welcome you. I'm thankful that you're here. |
| 0:12.2 | Our task here at the morning mindset is to every day get our minds aligned with the truth of God. |
| 0:19.6 | And why do we need to do that? Well, it's because our minds leak. |
| 0:23.6 | As we sleep, as we go through the day, the pressures and stresses of life cause us to start thinking human-level thoughts. |
| 0:33.2 | Thoughts kind of designed by the way we've been raised and the way we've typically lived in the world. |
| 0:38.5 | But we want to align our thoughts with God's way of thinking, so that we can live aligned with His way of thinking. |
| 0:44.8 | That's the way human beings are designed to live, and that's the way God wants us as followers of Christ to live. |
| 0:51.1 | So welcome. I'm glad we're here. Today, we're going to be looking at the topic of God being our friend, or rather us being a friend of God. |
| 1:01.1 | This is all part of our identity in Christ's series, and I hope that you're listening to these. |
| 1:07.1 | You can go back a couple of days to find the beginning of this, because we really need to build these foundations of who we are, |
| 1:14.9 | so that we show up in the world with confidence and with strength and with a sense of purpose that only comes from knowing who we are in Jesus Christ. |
| 1:26.9 | Today, we're going to be talking about John 15, verse 15. |
| 1:31.9 | So if you've got your Bible and you're able to look, turn right over there, I'm going to read the passage here. |
| 1:35.9 | It says, no longer do I call you servants. Now, this is Jesus talking. |
| 1:40.9 | Okay, so let's pay attention. No longer do I call you servants for the servant does not know what his master is doing. |
| 1:48.9 | But I have called you friends for all that I have heard from my father. I have been known to you. |
| 1:55.9 | So Jesus himself is speaking to us here, and he's saying that though we are servants, he does not think of us that way. |
| 2:04.9 | As we are in him through our faith in him, he looks at us as friends. |
| 2:11.9 | And the basis upon which he describes us to be his friends is very interesting. |
| 2:16.9 | He says a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I, Jesus, have called you friends for all that I've heard from my father. |
| 2:25.9 | I have made known to you. |
