Last week we did a show about placenta encapsulation.

That's that thing when people save their placenta after giving birth and turn them into little

pills.

This practice is growing in popularity in North America.

We went through the whole process of making the pills with a doula and we had lots of

nozzar from radio lab with us.

It was super fascinating.

We learned a ton.

Alright, so placenta pills.

Some people swear by them.

You know, they say these pills prevented them from getting postpartum depression.

Other people though, they think this is absolutely a kooky idea.

And there are lots of parenting things like this where people will fall on one side or

the other of some big idea or some parenting technique.

And when it's your friend who's on the other side, well that can just really screw up your

friendship.
