0:03.4	Might seem like an odd question, but it's not.
0:05.9	Jews and Christians give different answers.
0:08.9	The reason is that what we know as the Ten Commandments
0:12.3	is in the original Hebrew, the Ten Statements.
0:16.2	And since the Hebrew was the original,
0:18.5	we begin with the First Statement,
0:20.7	which all religions agree is,
0:23.6	I am the Lord your God,
0:25.2	who took you out of the land of Egypt,
0:27.3	out of the house of bondage.
0:29.6	This statement is so important
0:31.6	that none of the other commandments
0:33.2	make sense without it.
0:35.3	First, it asserts that God is giving these commandments,
0:38.7	not Moses and not any other human being.
0:42.8	Second, God is the one who delivered you from slavery.
0:47.1	Again, no human being did this, not even Moses.
0:51.6	Therefore, you have an obligation to me, God.
0:56.3	And what is that obligation that you live
0:58.5	by the following nine commandments?
