Summary

Hey Tribe Happy New Year!

As we step into 2022 Good Moms want to encourage you to include the kids in any new self care rituals, like yoga and meditation.

In order to provide some tools and resources for you to practice, Erica and Milah partnered with yoga + mindfulness facilitator for kids and adults, meditation guide, and founder of Yoga Little, Naja Crawford to bring a special meditation for our little ones.

You will want to have a mirror nearby for this meditation, but if you don’t have one nearby that is okay too.

Let’s collectively uplift our children and introduce them to wellness tools early.

That's something to celebrate always. In meditation, it's important to breathe fresh new air into our bodies to make room for magic.

Close your eyes for a moment. Place one hand on your belly and one on your heart. Feel the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe naturally.

Now, notice the beat of your heart. No one else's heart is beating the way yours is right now.

1:24.0

These two feelings mean you're alive. What a gift. Together, let's give ourselves a big breath in.

1:34.0

Breathing in through your nose, fill up your belly like a balloon to the count of three. One, two, three. Hold it for a moment.

1:45.0

Breathing out from your mouth, empty your belly for a count of three, two, one. Breathe in for one, two, three. Hold and empty your belly for three, two, one.

2:02.0

Do this a few times on your own. Counting in your head helps create a rhythm of breath.

2:08.0

When you feel ready, gently open your eyes and place your hands on your lap.

Next, with your eyes still open, sit on your bottom and send your legs out long in front of you.

2:21.0

You can lean back on your hands if that's comfortable.

2:25.0

Your toes should be staring right back at you.

2:29.0

Wiggle your toes and slowly start to scan your body from your toes to ankles, up to your legs and your knees.

2:39.0

Notice anything different? Maybe a scar or a birthmark you forgot you had.

2:45.0

When you notice something, stop right there and stare at it a little longer.

2:51.0

Look at it with love and try to remember the story of how it became a part of you.

2:57.0

If there's nothing you remember about it, just look at it with love, thinking it for being a part of you.
