He had this walks free, despite horrifying new evidence about his crimes,

and it certainly seems as though he was grooming and talking to young men on what is described as an industrial scale.

Let's talk to Joseph Carr, specialist in child abuse at the solicitor's offices

of Bolt's Burden and Kemp. Joseph, very good morning, Tim. I mean, reading some of the stories

this morning from the papers and from the court case, particularly the sort of nine pages in the

sun, I find it staggering that the result of the of the sentencing is that he doesn't do any jail time at all.

And I know that there are reasons why, and I know that there are kind of, you know,

limitations on all sorts of things and time off for this and time off for that.

But given the seriousness and the scale, it just surprises me that he doesn't get any jail time at all.

Yeah, look, I mean, I think it's worth reiterating, right, that these crimes that he's pleaded

guilty to include images of the worst category offenses, you know, young children, it, you know,

won't go into the details, but the worst things you can imagine. So I think, I think everyone is going

to be

a little bit shocked and I know there will be loads of people who will be disappointed that

he's been given a suspended sentence. A suspended sentence doesn't mean he is definitely going to avoid

jail. It means that if he commits another crime in the next few years, and he's going to go to jail.

But, you know.

Does it, though?

Does it not just mean if he commits a crime during the six months that he's on probation, effectively?

I think it's six months and then two years suspended.

So for two years, he's not going to commit a crime.
