Summary

Welcome to the first installment of The Hurry Up, a name I came up with five seconds before recording.

LSU opened the season with a 55-3 win over Georgia Southern in which the Tigers' spread offense shined and the defense shut down the triple option attack of the Eagles.

I talk about a couple of things that stood out to me in the game, and we hear from Ed Orgeron, Terrace Marshall, and Justin Jefferson -- but not Joe Burrow, who was swarmed by a startling number of reporters after the game.

If you liked this concept -- quick reaction to the game immediately afterward, with less focus on production value and more focus on timeliness -- let me know, and I'll keep it up for the rest of the season.

If you didn't like it, let me know that, too, and I'll happily head home after the game an hour sooner.

Hey, everybody, welcome to the hurry up, the very first edition of the hurry up. The hurry up is going to be my instant or almost instant or as quick to instant reaction to the latest game as quickly as possible. It's a name I literally just came up with five seconds before I hit record on this. So if you have a better one, send it in but essentially you know if you're

the action as much as possible. I can promise you this.

0:54.9

I can't make any promises because this may be a one-time thing.

I may do it tonight, wake up tomorrow, regret staying extra late, and never do this again.

And on the way out, I have to pass by the TV production room.

And I saw Caleb Thornton and David Landry

1:12.5

in there, who basically stay here all night after games, cranking out the coaches show, and I felt

1:17.7

guilty, to be honest with you, about going home. So I changed clothes. I got into some more comfortable

1:22.8

clothes. Came back in my office and started recording so that you can have some sort of instant analysis. I can't promise it will be good analysis, and it probably won't be good analysis, and probably the analysis I come back with later in the week will be better. But it's here for you if you are in the car on a Sunday, if you're cutting grass, or whatever the case may be. So I hope you enjoy it. Let's dive right in because I didn't prepare for this.

And all I did was to kind of take notes on the game as it went along.

1:49.1

And I wrote my postgame story, which you can read at LSUports.net,

1:52.6

that had a lot of food puns because on Saturday night in the first game of the season for LSU, everybody ate.

2:00.8

I think the standout story of the game is pretty obvious,

2:05.2

the offense that has been much Ballyhooed all offseason,

2:08.5

that has been hyped up to be a new modern spread attack for LSU,

2:13.1

at least in game one.
