Summary

This episode brings you the late-night and early morning audio-journal recordings from our recent hunt in New Zealand. Audrey and I re-cap our hunts for my massive red stag, our bowhunts for red stag and arapawa ram, Audrey's fallow deer, and her exceptional Himalayan Tahr. Plus we detail the rifles, optics, ammo, and archery gear we used. This was an incredible safari to the Land of the Long White Cloud... we hope you enjoy it!

And then about a weekend, we'll

both have fantastic reputations. I believe both are 100% going to be in our group of most highly

0:59.2

recommended outfitters. The next couple weeks will prove that point out or otherwise. Prep has

1:07.4

been kind of interesting, Audrey and I were up to almost midnight last night doing final packing because both of us are taking a bow in addition to the two rifles that I'm taking.

1:20.4

I'll really use one of them for the most part, but fairly significant equipment for some article and podcast review projects that I'm working on.

1:33.0

For the gearheads on our show, I'll mention what they are briefly.

1:38.3

One of them is one of the new Browning X-Bolt 2 and the Pro Series rifles.

1:45.2

It's not the Mountain Pro or whatnot.

1:48.2

Just a standard X-Bolt 2 Pro, but there's really not much standard about it.

1:54.4

It's an incredibly nice rifle, skeletonized action to make it very weight, very, very nice carbon fiber stock,

2:03.3

20-inch barrel in the SPR suppressor-ready version, and with my handloads, it's shooting

2:10.1

incredibly well. I zeroed it, just rough zeroed it with a new Louisville V VX5 Gen 2 scope in the 3 to 15 power

2:19.4

using Hornady Precision Hunter Ammo

2:23.9

with 175 grand ELDX bullet

2:26.4

and it was shooting three shots touching

2:28.6

with that factory ammo as well.

2:30.4

So I've only used two loads in it so far
