For more than a century, America has been a nation of 30-caliber cartridge hunters.

I really think that dynamic has shifted in the last 10 years with all the 6-5s, the 7-MMs, the new 6.8, and so forth.

But a case could be made that for across-the-spectrum use on everything from antelope and white-tail tail deer up to moose, bison, and the big bears.

If you're a one cartridge kind of guy, a 30 is probably still where it's at.

Yeah, there's no arguing that.

It's the all-American cartridge.

My research indicated there was one 30-calibre cartridge in the world before we came up with the 30-30.

What about the 303 British?

Yeah, that might have beaten it, but what was the diamond?
