Let's dive it.

Yesterday in Hungary, a massive and sweeping victory by Peter Magyar and his

Tisha party over incumbent Prime Minister Victor Orban and his party Fidesh. Now, this is important for

so many reasons that I'm going to get to.

But a couple of things stand out.

First of all, over 70% of Hungarian voters showed up to cast a ballot.

Secondly, the margin of victory was so massive that Peter Margier's party will take 138 out of the 199 seats in parliament.

That is a super majority.

And with that kind of representation in power, they can affect real and massive change in a country that

Orban has been dismantling for over 16 years.

Now, for those of you who don't know, Victor Orban is an autocrat and has been using the democratic system of his country to turn it into a dictatorship.

Indeed, he refers to his system as an illiberal democracy.

A Christian nationalist counter to Western liberal democracy.

The goal has nothing to do with improving the lives of the Hungarian people.

In Orban's disastrous 16 years in charge, he has bequeathed his country at its people high unemployment,

the social safety net has been brought to its knees, and Hungary is one of the poorest countries in the European Union.

He's taken control of universities and the media.

He's restructured the judiciary by installing loyalists with little or no experience in violation of the country's own constitution.

His administration has been rife with corruption.

During his time in office, oligarchs have benefited enormously,

and the population is shrinking.
