Quite a lot to get through today.

Quite a lot of stories, but also a few questions that I'm tempted to turn your attention to,

despite the fact that they don't directly spring from anything in the news.

You know, the idea of under 11s being banned from heading footballs.

I mean, like you, my initial and immediate reaction to that story is, what

the heck are they up to now? Oh, for goodness sake. But then I start wondering whether it could

possibly be one of those things that gets filed under, well, just because we've always done it,

doesn't mean that we should necessarily carry on doing it. I'll find out what you think a little

later in the program. Something that I have mentioned to you before.

So I'm very conscious of turning into a sort of middle-aged cliché and having the

same topics of conversation and telling rubbish jokes and all those sort of dad stereotypes.

But I do find myself increasingly commenting upon the proliferation

of hair salons and barbershops on British high streets. To a degree where I'd describe it as a

genuine mystery, how come there are now so many when there didn't used to be? Speaking of someone

who's got considerably less hair than he had 10 years ago, there's a statistical anomaly here that I, I'm keen to work it out.

And then I open my newspaper today and see a headline, town with 28 hair salons.

It's only got a population of 74,000, throw in a few Turkish barbers.

And I think you've got a conundrum for our, for our times.

Hopefully have time to turn some of your attention to that.
