It's exactly the way it is with God.

He comes to you, he gives you that kiss of forgiveness and says, I forgive you.

What a God!

What a God!

And at that point, you see, with the head down and the tears flowing,

Simeon says, that's the place to be. That's the place to be.

Well, this is the last time that we'll talk about Charles Simeon for quite a while.

And the focus tonight is on Simeon's dealing with his own sinfulness.

And I find his approach to this very, very different from the way we are generally instructed today to handle our sinfulness and I find it healthy and the danger in

talking about it is that it is so strange today that that I'm afraid people

won't get it when I say it.

They'll get it wrong.

But I'll do the best I can.

And my prayer is and was with the staff beforehand

that the Lord will give a sensitive listening

and a balanced understanding and a grasp on the way this man lived

as a sinner, a saved sinner before God. And here's, I think I put it in the bulletin this way.
