Thank you so much for having me. I have to ask, how did you get the name Humble the Poet?

The long story short is I grew up in heritage and talked about our ego, being an enemy

of our peace.

And, you know, when I was on my own spiritual journey, I kind of simplified that to, you know,

being humble, so focus on being humble and being a little

nerd on the internet. That was my screen name everywhere. And then I got involved in hip-hop and

different hip-hop websites. And then it evolved from that to humble the poet as I got it to music

and writing. And I didn't want to be known as a rapper because when people hear the word rapper,

they jump to like 10 conclusions.

And hip-hop is just modern poetry. So I took the moniker of the poet. And then the first time

I told a group of guys that name, they all thought it was a horrible name. So out of spite,

I kept it. And this is right before social media handles, right before everything else. So

I'm sure a shorter name would have worked a lot better.

And I came up with it long before I ever thought I'd become a public figure.
