Chad Griffin is the president of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest civil rights

organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer

Americans.

As the midterm elections bear down upon us, Griffin's traveling all over the country, helping

LGBTQ and allied candidates in their quest for

higher office and being a voice for millions of Americans who've had enough.

When I asked Griffin about his optimism for the future, he was unequivocal.

We are going to get our country back.

Chat Griffin, thank you very much for being on the podcast. Thank you for having me. So in 2015 the LGBT community was on top of the world

and that was when the Supreme Court ruled that marriage equality was the law of the land and as the

co-founder of the American Foundation for Equal Rights I mean you were part of

the effort to get Proposition 8 overturned by the Supreme Court.

I would love to get your thoughts, your personal thoughts on what it was like then,

that during that time of leading the fight and then the ultimate

culmination being the 2015 ruling.
