Hello and welcome to a very special episode of the Celebrity Book Club podcast.

In collaboration with Tantsuit Politics Podcasts, I'm so excited.

Celebrity Book Club and Tantsuit Politics were the first two Apple Spotlight Podcasts

picks ever.

They launched this program and our two podcasts for the very first one they picked and we bonded

over the internet when we were chosen and decided that one day we had to do an episode

together that would combine celebrity memoirs and politics.

And finally the perfect book landed in our hands, Puma Abidim's memoir published just

a couple of weeks ago, hot at the present in 2021, titled both and a life in many worlds.

Very bad title, but very good book.

So I vastly prefer being on the sidelines, I like being the invisible person in the background

I've always been, whether it's spouse or employee or frankly even to be the child of

the parents that I had who are larger than life.

I liked it.

It was about the mission, the cause.

But what I felt in the 25 years I've been in public service while I was silent, somebody

else was telling my story.

And now I have this opportunity to share my life and so I've walked along history as I

wrote in the book.

Maybe there are some women, some brown girls, some Muslims who maybe learn something, take

something from my story.

And I'm happy to share it.
