I'm your host, Chelsea Devantes, I'm a writer, comedian, and filmmaker, and this week we

are book clubbing Padma Lakshmi's memoir written in 2016 titled Love, Lost, and What

We Eight.

This book was so good, you will learn about top chefs, you will learn about not having

daddy issues, but grand daddy issues, and while this book does have recipes in it,

I still enjoyed it, and that's the highest compliment I can give.

I have a very complicated and layered relationship with modeling, allowed me to travel, allowed

me to see the world.

I did feel guilty about it, you know, I made in one day what it took my mother, for example

as a nurse, to make in a month.

I know that my looks are really the alchemy of my parents' genetics and have little to

do with me or any accomplishment of my own.

Food and fashion are both much closer than people realize.

You can tell a lot about a culture by the way they eat and by the way they dress.

So we are going to dive into Padma shortly, but before we do, I have a really, really important

announcement.
