A story I'll never not tell about my dog, the outlawed Josie Wales.

For the July, we'd always go to my then-husband's family's beach cabin. Josie loved to have us

flip over rocks so she could eat the critters underneath there. This particular year,

we may have let her eat a few too many little eels when it was time for the family barbecue.

Josie proceeded to sit in front of Grandma,

begging for some tasty snacks.

But instead, she vomited whole and half-eaten eels right in front of

grandma, who was not amused.

I miss that dog from Rose in Tacoma.

Eels don't look good even before they're eaten.

I can't imagine what they look like afterwards.
