one of ireland's most celebrated figures patrick was born around the year 390 in britain likely

in what is now Scotland,

though there's a debate as to whether it was there versus modern day England or Wales,

to a family with Roman citizenship.

Okay. So his parents... Okay.

There was a kid in my school that was Italian. Every year he wore shirts at St. Patrick's Italian.

Okay. Apparently, I took it to heart.

He was kidnapped and enslaved the age of 16 and brought over to Ireland.

He then escaped a monastery where he converted to Christianity, and that's where he became a priest and then eventually a bishop.

He returned to Ireland in 432 as a missionary, and he played a major role in converting the Irish to Christianity. After his death, he was named Ireland's patron saint. His actual name was Maywin Sucket. Maywin Sucket? How's his given name? He changed his name to Patrick when he became a bishop, hopefully to make it a little bit easier. Suck it. By the way, March 17th is not St. Patrick's birthday. While some think it's his birthday, the date is actually believed to be the day he died in the 5th century. Would you rather be celebrated on your birthday or your death day? Death day. Well, look. Yeah, because death is about you, you know, in your life.

And the fact that that's not your personal mother's day is a crime.

She is the one that carried your ass, that brought you into this world, and then took care of you afterward.

Your birthday should have nothing to do with you and everything to do with your mother.
