The that has a great history and should have a great future and crime is out of

control and a lot of this is decisions that are being made. We discovered that over

260,000 cases were suspended from within the Houston Police Department

by a decision that was made that, well, we just don't have enough people to handle it.

This wasn't the rank and file cop who made this decision. This was made at the top levels.

It had to be. It's the only way this could be done. And now

when Internal Affairs, which is the department within the department, the

group within the department that is to investigate

hPD's union not missing words as the president of the organization that represents the rank

and file says the Internal Affairs investigation being conducted by HPD into the suspended

investigation scandal is carefully not going after top-tier leadership.

It has to be a fair and impartial investigation which is hard to do without a statement from the chief or the EACs involved.

The union sending this letter today to the HPD commander over internal affairs, stating that

allegations made by Chief Finner and his former senior executive command staff are quote

inaccurate and at worst materially false or misleading. What steps did you take in

2021 to investigate these cases that had been suspended.
