Welcome back to the morning mindset. It is time for you and for me to get our minds

align with the truth of God and we are just going to dive right in this morning

because the passage we're looking at has a lot of great truth for us.

We're looking at 1st Peter, chapter 3,

and we're actually going to have to read an extended section of the passage

to get the context right right because the context matters.

You know some people say context is king meaning when you're trying to find an

understanding in any kind of literature, you need to understand the context because it will inform how you understand what it is you're reading.

And that's no less true in the Bible, except I just prefer to think of Jesus as King,

and the context is his words that will guide us, if that makes sense.

All right, we're going to start reading in verse number 14, which we've already covered,

and then move through a section we've already covered and then move through a section

we've already covered as well and into the following verses so that we can have

the broader context then we'll come back and talk about some of it let's begin

reading in verse 14 of firstst Peter chapter 3. But even if you

should suffer for righteousness sake you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor

But in your hearts, honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense

to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. Yet do it with gentleness and

respect having a good conscience so that when you are slandered those who

revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
