| 0:21.6 | about how we come to be in right relationship with him. |
| 0:27.0 | Because what we believe about that issue is going to color everything else. |
| 0:32.0 | It's going to cover our actions, our attitudes, our behaviors. |
| 0:36.1 | And so I want to dive into Romans chapter 3 versus 21 and 22 to help us get clarity on this issue. And I pray it's a clarity that lasts once and for all in our lives because this is very very important. |

| 0:52.8 | Romans 3, verse number 21 says, |
| 0:54.8 | but now the righteousness of God |
| 0:58.4 | has been manifested apart from the law, although the law and the prophets bear witness to it. |
| 1:06.5 | All right, let's stop for a moment. |
| 1:08.7 | He's saying now at this point in history from the time Paul wrote this forward, which was back in the first century. |

| 1:20.6 | Do you know what that word manifested means? |
| 1:23.0 | I mean it's been demonstrated, it's been shown, it's been made evident. |
| 1:29.0 | So the righteousness of God, meaning the very righteousness that he possesses, has been made known to mankind, and has been made available is Paul's point. |
| 1:43.4 | And he says it comes apart from the law, |
| 1:46.0 | so it's not through observing religious rules and rituals. |
| 1:51.1 | That's not how we receive it or obtain it. |
| 1:55.0 | So how do we? He says, the law and the prophets bear witness to it, |
| 1:59.0 | meaning they speak about this righteousness, speak about its availability and the way it's going to come about. |
| 2:06.0 | And here is how it happens. |
