We are looking at 1 Peter, chapter 3.

We are continuing with this topic that Peter brings up about submission, and he's been applying this to the Christian wife, the woman who really wants to live out her faith well as a believer in the context of her marriage.

And he's given us an example of what that looked like in the old days of how one woman applied

that and that was the matriarch Sarah and what she did in her

relationship toward Abraham and at the very tail end of this illustration

using Sarah he says you are her children if you do good and do not fear

anything that is frightening. Now it sounds kind of funny.

Don't be afraid of what's fearful is really what he's saying.

But what does he mean by that and why does he say it?

Well, from a male perspective, when I look at the issue and ask the question, what does a

woman who is married to a man and is submitting to him have to be afraid of? man I can see all kinds of things because we guys can be

pretty boneheaded at times. We can be obtuse. We don't get some of the more nuanced parts of relationships sometimes. We don't get some of the more nuanced parts of relationships sometimes.

We don't see what's going on around us between the people that are in the context that we're in.

We don't even notice we have on mismatch socks sometimes.

We don't notice all kinds of things.

And those blind spots that men have can at times bring up some pretty iffy situations
