Hello, everyone, and welcome back to a brand new episode of the Financial Confessions.

0:05.0

It's me, your host, Chelsea Fagan, founder and CEO of the Financial Diet and woman who loves to talk about money.

0:12.0

And I want to start this episode with a content warning because we are going to talk about some pretty heavy topics that we don't often get into here on the channel

0:21.3

too explicitly, topics that can be triggering and upsetting. And that is a lot to do with

0:27.5

disordered eating, as well as disordered relationships to one's own body and the food that

0:31.9

we're putting in it. Now, that is not to say that this is going to be all about that, but I do

0:37.3

want to be very clear that those are topics we'll touch on. So if they're hard for you to listen to right now or in general, I will not take offense at all if you tune out. 1:03.0

to see that it had at the time of my recording my TikTok

1:05.7

over a million views and tons of people in the comments

1:08.5

talking about how they too love to do this or love the idea.

1:11.2

Basically, an influencer I'm not really familiar with her, posted a video of her like

1:17.1

favorite low calorie dessert that she referred to as her dessert lasagna.

1:21.5

And when I saw an image of it, those of you watching YouTube can see what it looks like here.

1:26.2

I actually thought this was some sort of gummy candy or cubed up jello.

1:30.7

It turns out that it is indeed just a glass full of crushed ice into which she

1:35.4

pours crystal light packets.

1:37.3

And she calls it lasagna because she does layers of ice with layers of crystal light.

1:42.9

So I stitched that video and I talked about how I found it pretty upsetting,

1:46.8

especially in the dead of summer when a lot of us are already hyper conscious about,

1:51.3

for example, what our bodies might look like in bathing suits and were inundated with all kinds of messaging about needing to lose weight and needing to focus on calories and so forth.
