This is truly a very special episode for me because I am going to be deep diving into the modern history of cannabis cultivation with one of my earliest weed mentors.

Horhe Servantes, as he's known to legions of

gondra growers and enthusiasts around the world. Well, he first started cultivating cannabis

way back in the 1970s. In 1983, he self-published his first book, Indoor Marijuana Horticulture, a true game changer,

and in the 40 years since, he has gone on to sell millions of copies of his authoritative

grow guides. I first met Jorge in the early 2000s when I was an editor at High Times. Yes,

say it with me, back when High Times was cool.

You know, the good old days when we were worried about the DEA, not the SEC, and if you

don't get that joke, just hit pause and Google it. Anyway, Jorge and I collaborated on a series

of how-to cultivation videos, which sold a ton of copies and also

got millions of pirated views on YouTube.

And directing those videos also stands out as a personal highlight, and perhaps the most fun I've ever really had on a job.
