Thanksgiving is a time for family, which brings me to a little family issue I'm having.

Segway, as many of you know I'm a dad, I've got a son who's eight and a daughter who's six,

and when I wake up in the morning I want to be funny dad.

I kind of dad who can make his kids laugh anytime, anywhere.

As the term dad joke implies I'm not trying to be George Carlin in his prime here.

I'm talking about getting a nice chuckle you know something a little bigger than a charity laugh from my kids.

Here's the thing though, on my best day I could be that dad.

But when my kids read the diary of a wimpy kid books, they laugh like crazy.

And it's the kind of laughter that's uncontrolled the way I used to laugh when I was watching a pink Panther movie when I was a kid.

It's a little unnerving for me because these two humans have been my captive audience for their entire lives.

And now this outsider can access their comic sensibilities way better than I can.
