Hello, hello, everybody. Welcome to the John Taffer podcast. I am, of course, John Taffer, and this is a really exciting podcast for me. You know, I got a chance to take a couple weeks off. And now, Tuesday, I go back into production for Bar Rescue. We're doing three more episodes. And I didn't have time to do a normal podcast this week so I thought to myself

to talk about winners so I thought to myself why don't we dedicate this week's podcast to winners? And let's play

some great clips of some of the best winners that we've had on this podcast. And I mean winners

in every type of arena you can. And I want to start with my dear buddy, Dave Portnoy. You know,

I met Dave Portnoy about 10 years ago when I did something called

blog rescue on the Barstool Sports site. Back then, Barstool Sports was a bunch of people all around

the country. A big cat was Barstool, Chicago, Dave Portnoy was Barstool, Massachusetts, and

it was Barstool, New York, and Barstool, L.A. And it was spread all over the country. But Dave had a vision. He had a vision. It started with a really sports betting newsletter. But this wasn't easy. They got up at 4 in the morning, went to the subways in Boston to hand out that newsletter to build a brand for himself. Well, if you Google it right now, Dave's worth about $120 million.

Yeah, I'd say he got it done.

So that four in the morning paid off, didn't it?

Yeah.

And he took Barstool and turned it into one of the most successful media platforms in America,

and he did it in a completely unconventional way.

He did it his way. Now, my wife always says to me, John, you did it in a completely unconventional way. He did it his way.

Now, my wife always says to me, John, you did it your way.

Well, I think I did.

But there's a lesson to be learned in this.
