I'm Pastor Mike Winger and this is the second part of a two-part series on

understanding the Old Testament law. Today we'll get into the New Testament teaching

on how Christians should interpret the Old

Testament law and apply it to their lives today. I recommend listening to the

first part from last time if you haven't heard it yet. All right, let's get to it.

We're talking about the Old Testament law and understanding the Old Testament law.

We want to comprehend it. We want to just not just gloss it over or say something cute about it and then ignore it for the rest of our lives.

We want to actually get it and understand it and know how to apply it into our lives as Christians, as New Testament believers.

So that's what we're going to talk about today.

Last week we said, hey, the Old Testament law was not merely about morals. These are just some

bullet points from last week. Morals, morality predates the law. The law is about more than just morality. It was a governmental law. It involved moral truths, yes, but it also had civil regulations, criminal punishments, and ceremonial laws concerning being clean and

unclean and what to do with sin and how to get right with God through sacrifice and things like that.

It was also limited.

It was not for all people.

Unlike Sri Allah in Islam, which they're supposed to spread around the whole world

in the name of Islam, the Torah or the Old Testament law

was only for Israel and was not even supposed to be

spread into every other nation. It was just for Jews living in Israel and the

strangers who in who lived in Israel who were immigrants in other words they became citizens of Israel.

It was for them as well.

The Old Testament is constantly quoted out of context to attack Christians and we dealt with that last week as well and so now
