Welcome to Bible Thinker the program dedicated to thinking biblically about everything.

I'm Pastor Mike Winger and we're starting a two-part series today in which we will try to understand the

Old Testament law in a way that many people don't. I think this is a hugely

important teaching that will fill in some gaps a lot of us have that can cause

us to miss out on the goodness of God's word and become prey to false teaching and skeptical

attacks. Part one of this series is from the Old Testament perspective,

understanding the law the way the Jewish person would back in the day.

And part two is from the New Testament perspective,

understanding the law through the lens of Christ and the gospel message.

I hope that this is a huge blessing to you.

I'm actually really excited to be getting into this topic.

The odd thing is, is that while I'm

terribly excited, I realize that a lot of other people wouldn't be. Because the

topic is understanding the Old Testament.

And I would say that how unexcited you are equals how badly you need to hear this.

Because if you are not excited about the Old Testament and about studying God's law and learning from it as a believer,

then there's a malfunction, you know, in your appreciation of God's word, because I mean, we read it says like his word is perfect and it's like it's like honey

It's like our daily bread and it's all these beautiful things and then it's like oh Leviticus

You know and the groaning begins.

And so I think that this study and the series we're going to do right now,

where there's two weeks or three weeks, I'm not sure we'll kind of see as we go,

it's going to be greatly valuable, but we're
