I did not come into foster care with this.

Like, oh, let's keep families together.

I'm passionate about this.

It was like, how could these mothers who say their love

their children do ex-IZ?

And I came with a lot of arrogance ignorance.

It took me really being humbled by God.

I had an experience where I just felt it clear as day.

What do you have that you have not received?

And when I started to see my kids' parents

throw lens of not good or bad, but of the gifts

I've been given.

And for me, that's a happy childhood, Christian parents,

all this stuff.

But that's not going to be everyone's story.

But still, if you've overcome hard things

and you are happy and healthy and a good parent,

then even for you, if you've had a hard life,

the answer is what do you have that you've not received?

It's always a gift of God that we are what we are,

that we have what we have.
