1:21.8 | And if I fail out of school, then I'll be a complete failure for the rest of my life. Somehow, a test, and whether you do or don't pass it, |
1:31.3 | just became complete failure for the rest of your life. That's an example of catastrophizing. |
1:37.3 | So the anxiety of a test automatically turns into being a complete failure in your life. And I want you understand that your |
1:46.2 | brain is incredibly complex. It's incredibly amazing. And it is really good at protecting you. |
1:53.9 | And so what it does is you start thinking about the test and it's 25 steps ahead of you. |
1:58.5 | And it turns into you're going to be a complete failure if you fail this test. |
2:02.8 | Another example might be you get into a fight with your girlfriend. |
2:06.8 | And then you think, well, now she's definitely going to leave me. |
2:10.9 | And if my girlfriend leaves me, I'll be destroyed. |
