Summary

In this episode of The Jordan Syatt Mini-Podcast, I talk all about travel and fitness with my trusty podcast producer, Tony. I talk about the entire spectrum of taking a day off for a dinner or a wedding to situations in which you are traveling for extended periods with little control over your schedule and everything in between. I highlight how important it is to realize you aren't going to ruin your diet or fitness program over the course of your travel, but I also go over some tips and thoughts on how to keep the gears moving when you're on the road, including getting out for a walk, ways to think about food and eating out at restaurants, and exercises and implements that are easy to take along with you on your journey. I also talk about appreciating the good old days while they are happening. For some equipment you can use on the road check out Val Slides or TRX Trainers (This is not a sponsored post!) We're rolling. Let's go. We're rolling. Tony, you got a flood in your house. Yeah. Yeah.

0:11.0

You're right, man. Everything okay? Ah, I'm good. Definitely wasn't as bad as it could

0:15.9

have been. So that's always something to be grateful for. It's demoralizing because

0:22.2

we had flooding when we first moved in. I remember that. And we had to like do construction,

0:27.2

put in a sump pump. It was a whole thing that dragged out for a long time. I think that

0:33.3

the problem this time is much smaller, but there's something about, it's like this is this

0:40.0

down here is where I have my studio. This is where I have instruments. This is where I have

0:43.1

all my nice equipment. This is where I do all my work. And so for it to just feel so vulnerable,

0:49.2

it's like if the world decides to rain just hard enough. Yeah. All of your stuff could

0:55.2

be ruined. All of it. Yeah. Oh, man. Yeah. So, so it's been a setback for sure, but setback

1:02.9

is a setup for a comeback, right? I love that. Rise like a fucking phoenix. Prove them all

1:09.4

wrong. Have you, would you ever like get like an office space outside of the house, whether

1:16.5

it's like a we work or just like rent an apartment? Is that an option? I thought about

1:23.4

it pretty hard. I think it would make the most sense if I was going to be recording bands

1:27.6

on the regular. And I live in DC. So, you know, rent is pretty high, no matter what you're

1:33.4

doing. And it just didn't make sense to be paying for another space to do that, let alone

1:40.6

the convenience of being able to do a lot of this from home, right? Right. Yeah. It's great

1:46.3

to be able to just go down, mix for a couple hours, go upstairs, you know, have lunch, do

1:51.2

whatever, come back, you know, it's, it's a different thing than clocking in at the, at

1:55.7

the studio. Yeah. So yeah, I don't know. Lots of ways to skin a cat. This is just how I chose

2:00.0

to do it. But overall, everything's good. You're good. You, there's still got some things

2:05.4

to fix up, but like it wasn't a devastating. No. No. It was, it was more devastating psychologically.
