I am joined today by Nick Hanauer. Having made his fortune originally as a venture capitalist,

Nick Hanauer became what used to be called a class traitor.

He became infamous about 10 years ago for warning the plutocrats

that eventually, if American inequality, stayed as it was, the pitchforks and the torches will come for them.

He founded civic ventures and civic action.

He helped kick off the campaign for a $15 minimum wage in Seattle.

His progressive economic commentary has appeared in the Democracy Journal of the Nation,

the American Prospect, Politico, and elsewhere. He is the host of the podcast,

Pitchfork Economics with Nick Hanauer, and he has now published a new book, corporate

bullshit, exposing the lies and half-tr Truths, the Protect Profit, Power,

and Wealth in America co-authored with Joan Walsh and Donald Cohen, who appeared on the program

a few months ago to discuss his book, The Privatization of Everything. Corporate Bullshit is

Now, you said on a recent podcast introducing this book to the public,

that as someone who has been in corporate boardrooms your whole life, there's nothing you know

more than the extent to which some of your business colleagues will go to lie to protect their

power and profits. I would describe that as a strong statement. Can you justify that statement? Take head out. Well, I would like to think

that the boards that I've been on have represented companies that have been less nefarious than
