This is a very real fear for many families

In fact, it's a very common problem for families with loved ones with dementia.

In fact, three out of five people with dementia wander, that's an estimated three million people

per year. And luckily, most of those who wander don't get very far and their situation is never

reported to the police or to the authorities. But not every situation is that fortunate.

When a loved one's wandering does become more severe and families do need to contact authorities for assistance, the statistics are very dire.

Now, if a loved one wanders and they are found within 12 hours, 93% will survive, but
