Talk to me about your podcast, like, when did you start it?

How did you build it?

Like, talk to me about the grind of like that, podcasting.

Yeah, 2000, I think my first episode probably went live in December of 18.

Okay. So, and I didn't miss an episode until probably the month that I got out of the Marine Corps in 21.

I had like a month window there where I was moving across country and yeah all this

other stuff and I unfortunately I lapsed a little bit but

I had planned it all out it was all great and then it wasn't so it is what this I eventually just told myself you know like you made it you know

three years never missed a beat while active duty give yourself a little grace but

the thing with like the whole content thing was when I first started this I mean you you heard the beginning right like I had no intention of

this becoming a brand or a business or anything. It was just like my goal was to learn how to write a you know just learn about how to write a book for about Afghanistan

nothing finance related and it kind of over time morphed to people asking questions

and becoming more of a I guess you'd call it expert or you know, whatever where it's like actually became

a resource right where people were asking me questions and you know whatever and I and I go out of my way to

answer them and do SEO research and write the quality articles and all the stuff

but when I first started like that was never the goal.

And so the podcast was just, you know, conversations with people that I want to have conversations with.

It was, hey, how do I find someone that I would love to pick their brain?

I hate that phrase, but, you know, I'd love to pick their brain. brain they're never gonna give me an hour of their time

how do I find a way to get an hour of their time

without having to pay to play with every single one of them like I have no

problem paying to play I believe single one of them. Like I have no problem paying to play.
