0:10.0	I'm Patrick Miller. How do you measure your life? A follower of Jesus should
0:17.7	always remember that he's made in the image of God. That's a good measurement for your
0:22.2	life. You have inestimable value in the eyes of God. You, my friend, have inestimable worth. Even better, Jesus lay down his life for you. He spilled his blood for you.
0:34.0	Could there be any higher price to pay? That is your worth.
0:38.8	Now those truths are the antidote to shame and insecurity.
0:42.9	But they aren't the only thing that can be said about life, about measuring of life.
0:47.3	Paradoxically, the Bible often seems to say the opposite of those things.
0:52.0	In Psalm 62, today's Psalm, we read verse 9. Surely the
0:56.4	lowborn are but a breath. The highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance,
1:02.0	they are nothing., they are nothing.
1:03.0	Together, they are only a breath.
1:06.0	Take two lives and measure them on a scale.
1:09.0	They will move it as much as a breath.
1:11.0	Or at least that's what the author of this Psalm says which is to say they're
1:14.3	valued at nothing. Now we know that sounds dark and get to the end of the episode before you make your
1:19.5	judgments but first consider your life in the scope of eternity.
1:24.0	If you live to a long old age, you'll be 100 years old.
1:27.2	Well, the Earth is 4.53 billion years old.
1:31.2	You haven't even witnessed a fraction of a fraction of its entire history.
