In our efforts to fight the fear of rejection, we end up fighting ourselves, we end up rejecting

ourselves. It becomes this self-fulfilling prophecy. You fear rejection and you think that you need to be like everybody else and deny who you are. Well, guess what? You're going to be rejected your whole life. And by who? Yourself. The last person you thought was the bully in the room. I was on the Today Show on the day the book came out and Monica Lewinsky was on the show before I was. She was talking all about self-bullying. There's bullying from the external world and then there's the shit we tell ourselves constantly. Can you imagine saying that out loud? If we were both to write down all the negative things we told ourselves in the last hour and then we had to actually share it with somebody else, imagine saying that out loud, if we were both to write down all the negative things we told ourselves in the last hour,

and then we had to actually share it with somebody else, imagine saying that to somebody else who's not you.

I think it would stop you dead in your tracks. That is essentially what we're doing when we fear

rejection and we're misusing this fear as a signal to reject ourselves just assimilate. That is not

what it wants you to do. The fear of rejection

is saying you're not maybe feeling fully connected. You're not feeling maybe loved. So maybe it means

you got to go find your people. You need to get moving. You need to appreciate more of who you are

and bring that to the forefront. Stop hiding. Stop

letting this fear of rejection make you small. Have it make you bigger. If that doesn't work still,

then you know what? Go find your people somewhere else. And I have done that. I always say,
