0:48.7	morning back in fall of 2007 when I was in my mid-30s a stay-at-home parent
0:54.4	with two little kids I got a phone call it was a physician telling me that my
0:59.0	mother had fallen ill with lung cancer and the prognosis was not good she was
1:04.7	already at stage four she lived across the country for me then three thousand
1:09.5	miles away and instead of telling me how long she had left the doctor simply
1:13.7	said if I were you I would make arrangements to get here as soon as possible so I
1:19.2	did I left my wife and my children and I found myself lost in a maze of
1:24.3	appointments and clean-ups insurance and long-winded medical terms eventually I
1:29.6	brought her back to Los Angeles to live and ultimately die with us my mother was
1:36.1	a single mom she had me when she was really young she was only 55 when she died
1:41.0	and I was her only child no one I knew had gone through this yet and I didn't
1:46.9	have anyone to help me I just fumbled through it as best I could now I'm at a
1:55.8	point where so many of my peers are catching up entering into this care
